Will Zimbabwe's new President actually bring change?

The new president of Zimbabwe is called "The Crocodile." Crocodiles are feared and respected in Africa, where the reptile patiently waits for its prey, half-hidden in the brown waters of the bushveld. An impala, a zebra or even a massive kudu knows that when they come to drink at a waterhole, the "garwe" might pounce. The crocodile, like Emmerson Mnangagwa, bides his time and is swift in his execution.

The New York Attorney General’s Office will investigate the Capital One data breach

Photo Illustration by Rafael Henrique/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images New York Attorney General Letitia James announced today that her office plans to investigate the Capital One data breach that impacted more than 100 million people in the US and Canada. “[We] will work to ensure that New Yorkers who were victims of this breach are provided relief,” James said in a statement. “We cannot allow hacks of this nature to become every day occurrences.” The breach, allegedly carried out by a former Amazon Web Services engineer, compromised names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, dates of birth, and self-reported incomes. Capital One’s press release also claims that 140,000 US Social Security numbers, 80,000 bank account numbers, and 1 million Canadian social insurance numbers were also compromised. Samsung says the Galaxy S9 isn’t selling very well

Samsung Electronics’ quarterly earnings are in , and as ever they’re right in line with guidance , meaning that the company’s run of record profits is at an end. Samsung made an operating profit of 14.87 trillion won on sales of 58.4 trillion won; revenue was down 4 percent year on year. According to Samsung, the drop in revenue can be put down to “softer sales of smartphones and display panels.” The company’s most important phone of the year, the Galaxy S9 , went on sale at the end of the previous quarter, but Samsung describes its performance as “slow.” Earlier this month analysts predicted that it would be the worst-selling Galaxy S flagship phone since 2012’s Galaxy S3. Samsung’s display business also had a rough quarter, with “weak demand” for flexible OLED panels as seen in products like the iPhone X, and LCD shipments falling in both price and quantity.
